Mixed feelings are better than trying to pretend that nothing happened or that nothing has changed when it has.

And I think you are kinda of supposed* to have mixed feelings about something like this or a similar RL situation.

On one hand, the person is alive and that's a relief and good. On the other, there is this new aspect that both of you are unsure about and how it might effect just about everything.

*You don't have to, of course.

Big changes, even ones we make for ourselves, take adjusting to. Adjusting to a sudden change even more so.
