Terramagne folks are strongly inclined to ask "Are you okay?" when someone seems a bit off. I'm delighted to see that switch to "How are you feeling?" when someone is probably not okay.
>> She had seen more of the former than the later <<
That should say "latter" above.
>>“Sometimes even fully manifested superpowers can lurk in the background,” Mint had explained.<<
Which is why it's a good idea to ask a reader. That can be recommended but not required. Easy city has one, Pointer. But all he's been able to identify about Adalina is the broad category -- Insect Powers -- and something chromatic. A lot of it is still growing in and hasn't settled enough to read clearly. Facet has extrapolated that she has Hive Mind because she's picking up a 'hum' from him and they have a certain affinity developing. So while it wouldn't hurt to ask a reader about Tsubasa's powers, it's probably too early to be sure about them.
>>Still, she was very close to being peopled-out. Tsubasa tried to communicate that fact. And to be fair, most of them seemed to accept that and leave. But the empty space they left behind never seemed to stay empty for long enough.<<
It might help to make out a schedule, try to figure how much time she needs by herself, with family, and with people who are trying to help her adapt. The gawkers can take a frigging hike. Another idea would be providing a sanctuary space for her with plants, a Zen garden, or whatever else she finds soothing.
>>The wings still felt a little weird but they getting less weird everyday.<<
That should say "they were getting" above.
>>On the other hand, her sketch-pads had never been busier. Trying to capture that shimmer of invisible to many color was a challenge but one that held a lot of appeal. She wondered if there was a market for artwork that make the invisible visible. Or contained hidden surprises for those who could see it. Something to add to the lists.<<
I'm sure that easteregg art would be popular!
>>“I'm not good at talking,” Tsubasa confessed. “So don't talk if you don't want to,” Mint said. She gestured to the stack of art supplies that had been in the We Care package. “You're an artist. Why don't you try drawing it out?”<<
Yaaayyy art therapy! :D
I enjoyed this. It does a good job of balancing between the frustrations and the curiosity.
